How Many Cars Is Too Many?

A person who owns one car may or may not need it. A person who lives in area where there is plentiful public transportation and who does not often venture outside of a city probably does not even need that. A person who lives in a small town does need a vehicle, often because there is no transportation available. This is the case for the United States. It is not often the case in other countries, where public transportation is in plentiful supply. A person seldom needs more than one car to get where he needs to go.

A family may have two cars. Two cars makes things easier and provides a back up in case something should happen to the first vehicle. More than this is pushing it, although some people may keep a car as a back up vehicle. If a person needs a truck or heavier vehicle, he can usually rent one from U-haul or a similar company. No more than one car per licensed driver is enough. A person living in warmer climates may get away driving a scooter or a motorcycle all year round. Running a gas efficient car can help a person save a large deal of money.
